The object
The BigStep extends its stainless-steel base to 58.55 millimeters to cover more of a compatible precision basket. Its stepped edge is designed to limit the ring of loose coffee that a narrower tamper can leave against the basket wall.
That close tolerance also makes a vertical press and basket compatibility more important. The selected white-handle version supports height adjustment with spacers and is intended for baskets measuring at least 58.70 millimeters internally.
